Scotland opens their Four Nations campaign against Australia at Hull on October 28.
McConnachie is one of several Aussies picked to play for the team nicknamed the Bravehearts alongside North Queensland Cowboys Kane Linnett and Lachlan Coote, Euan Aitken from St George Illawarra and former Gold Coast forward Luke Douglas, who recently joined English Super League club St Helens.
Wests Tigers recruit Tyler Cassel, who’s yet to play an NRL game and Sheldon Powe-Hobbs (Northern Pride) are the other Australia-based players.
McConnachie qualifies for Scotland thanks to a grandparent.
"I will feel honoured and privileged to play for Scotland, considering my grandfather - James Muir McConnachie - was from Glasgow," McConnachie said earlier this year.
"We didn't get to meet any of his family from Scotland but, coming over to the Four Nations, I want to get a better understanding of my heritage and I want to make my father - William Edward McConnachie – proud.

He was meant to make his international debut in last year's European Championships, but was suspended after a fracas in the Australian national final.
He was given a two-match ban for punching during Ipswich's 26-12 win over Newcastle in the 2015 State Championship at Sydney's Olympic Stadium.
Scotland will be the minnows of the Four Nations tournament which features the three heavyweights Australia, New Zealand and England.
Scotland was ranked ninth in the rugby league world in June behind the big three, then Samoa, France, Ireland, Fiji and Wales.
To qualify for the 2016 Four Nations, Scotland defeated inaugural 2009 tournament invitee France in the final of the Rugby League European Nations Cup.
English-born coach of Scotland for the past 12 years, Steve McCormack is under no illusions at the size of the job ahead.
“It’s a young team,” McCormack told the Herald of Scotland newspaper.
“Apart from Danny there aren’t many that are very experienced and that’s great for the future of Scotland.”
“Danny” is 33-year-old Danny Brough a gritty Yorkshire-born player for Super League side Huddersfield Giants.
Now captain of Scotland he has more caps for the country than other player.
Both Brough and McConnachie are expected to line up for Scotland in a trial game on the weekend prior to the Four Nations against a Cumbria Select XIII.
The Australia v Scotland game kicks off at 5am Queensland time next Saturday. All Four Nations games are live on Channel Nine.
