South Bank security officers can slap troublemakers with exclusion directions, which last for up to 10 days, for antisocial behaviour such as fighting, or obscene or offensive language.
Drunk and disorderly behaviour, underage drinking and property offences such as stealing and graffiti were also likely to lead to troublemakers getting their marching orders.
In 2015-16, there were 706 exclusion directions given, down from 798 the previous financial year.
Of those complaints, there were 173 exclusion directions given to children, down from 301 the previous year, according to South Bank Corporation's annual report.
A Brisbane City Council spokeswoman said the most common reason for exclusion was for creating a disturbance.
Of the bans, 346 were for creating a disturbance.
"This includes antisocial behaviour such as fighting and generally disturbing other people's peaceful enjoyment of the parklands," the spokeswoman said.
"Safety is of paramount importance at South Bank.
"The exclusion policy ensures all parkland visitors are able to enjoy the area with their family and friends without disturbance or offence."
The maximum fine for contravening an exclusion notice is 10 penalty units, which is $1219.
There is no requirement for a police officer to be present, but "as a matter of course", security do call for police for safety reasons, the spokeswoman said.
"South Bank is a safe precinct with 24-hour security presence supported by roving foot patrols, which work closely with the Queensland Police," the spokeswoman said.
Meanwhile, the report also reveals plans for a "potential redevelopment" of Arbour View restaurants, central cafes and riverside restaurants at South Bank.
"Concept designs and financial feasibilities will be prepared for the potential redevelopment of these facilities," it says.
A South Bank Corporation spokeswoman said it was looking at redeveloping or replacing assets that were roughly 20 years old.
"Public expectations for an area such as South Bank continually evolve," the spokeswoman said.
"It is important that South Bank continues to deliver new facilities and attractions for visitors to the Parklands to maintain relevancy and attractiveness through meeting and exceeding public expectations."
She said the plan was still in its early days.
South Bank Corporation and Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre's management company are also investigation options to refurbish the original entry section of the centre on Merivale St to "ensure it remains competitive and attractive", the report says.
The popular tourist destination and cultural hub attracts about 10 million visitors each year.
