Police said a recent investigation by Mount Isa detectives located a stolen bicycle.
“Police reunited the property with the rightful owner due to the description and identification of property given to police at the time,” Sergeant Cath Purcell said.
“The owner was able to describe the property, and police were able to link it back to the owner.”
Sgt Purcell said it was important to record the details of valuables and store them with important documents.
“An easy way is to photograph your valuables and their serial number,” she said.
“In an emergency, or in property damage or theft, the details are on hand to give to police, or your insurer.”
Sergeant Purcell said the more information that you record, the better chances it would assist police with identifying stolen property and reuniting valuables to the rightful owner.
