After fundraising for their trip to compete at the Under 15s Boys State Championships back in September, the team have donated $550 to Mount Isa and North West Queensland Breast Cancer Support Group.
Team Coach, Kate Lovett, said the money would go towards helping cancer victims in our area.
“The boys wanted to support a local cause. When the boys travelled to Mackay to compete they also wore pink socks in support of breast cancer awareness patients.”
Breast Cancer Support Group president, Trish Olsen, said she overwhelmed with appreciation and amazed that young kids could take initiative to do things like this and raise awareness.
