So MITS Summer Hits of 2016 features five small plays which have been written and directed by local MITS members.
Writer and director, Jenelle Robartson, said the production was 100 per cent Mount Isa collaboration.
“Each play showcases a vast variety of Mount Isa talent,” she said.
“There is literally something for everyone. There is a bit of drama, a bit of comedy and something everyone can relate to,” Ms Robartson said.
“We have a huge cast for this production with about 10 actors under the age of 18 years. This could even be the largest ensemble cast I think we have ever had.”

The first play ‘How Did We Get Here?’ it is about a group of friends who are now in their 40s, and are having a gathering. The audience will learn a bit about their past through flashbacks when they were young, and journey along to find how they got to where they are today.
The next play is called ‘Day Off’, it is about how dad is giving mum the morning off, by taking the kids to Saturday sports. All the distractions that happen to her through the day makes her wonder if she really got her day off.
The third play ‘Pretty Face Two’ is a sequel to a performance produced a few years ago. Is it about a girl who is remembering her friend who committed suicide due to domestic violence and her reflection of their friendship.
The next play is called ‘New Years, Steve’ which is about a group of young friends and reminiscing about what happened on New Years Eve. There are a few surprises and realise more happened then they thought.
The final play is called ‘Flying High’ which is a parody about a male pilot and the production plays on words.
Ms Robartson said each play would be between 10 to 30 minutes each.
“Audience members will get a taste of everything. This show will be a great family performance for chidlren over 15 years of age.”
