While majority of the Mount Isa community seemed content with Jackass’s visit to Mount Isa, it sparked different views within the North West Star Office.

Journalist, Samantha Walton:
I must say I was disappointed for a number of reasons. Firstly the price of the tickets were overpriced for the lack of entertainment provided throughout the show. Known for their horrendous stunts and pranks on each other, the only entertainment provided by the group was: pretending to sh*t on the stage, taking shots and tasering someone.
Secondly I was absolutely disgusted with the fact that two young, pretty ladies put their hands up to go on stage. Now honestly, if you put your hand up to go on stage in a Jackass show, you would obviously know something was about to go down. Sure enough I found myself cringing in my seat when Wee-Man started talking about the different types of areolas and then asked the young ladies to display theirs. Sitting next to my partner who I took to the show for date night, he got more than he bargained for. Meanwhile I felt disgusted that two Mount Isa ladies got up in front of 150+ locals and flashed for all to see.
Journalist, Chris Burns:
It was also a date night for me. I certainly didn’t know which way to look when those ladies went up on stage, until my partner encouraged me that it was okay to watch. Awesome. But like you said Sam, the point wasn’t that it made an awkward date, but whether it was the time and place for two local girls to show their areolas (I never even knew what those were, so at least I learned things).
But you know what grinds my gears? Many people complained about the price of monster truck tickets, where quality drivers, fireworks, trucks and props were transported from the coast in large scale. And then people who watch Jackass are shortchanged 15 minutes from what they were promised and pay more for tickets to see four Americans. 75 minutes instead of 90 isn’t good enough.
I should disclose that I accepted a courtesy ticket from MIETV, as a journalist who previously wrote an article on Jackass. It’s necessary to mention this when complaining about ticket prices when in fact I did not pay for mine. But others paid and weren’t happy with what they got out of it, and so therefore it’s only right to mention it.
Still, what about the guy who got kicked in the nuts? What a champion.
