The horse trail ride was organised before Mrs Hann died from a rare form of brain cancer on Tuesday, October 25.
The ride’s organiser Michelle McClymont was a friend of Mrs Hann.
“She was a fantastic person,” Ms McClymont said, after the ride ended at the Lake Moondarra turnoff park.
While the horse trail ride could have become melancholic, it was to have a “great atmosphere” while supporting a local family in need.
“Before we left I explained why we are here, and that sort of thing, and remembered why we were here,” Ms McClymont said.
“It made it a little bit emotional.
“It’s a fun day and everyone gets out doing what we love, and it’s a great atmosphere for it.”
The trail ride raised more than $610 for the Hann family, considering the $20 donations for the horse riders and more than $210 raised from the raffle.
A bridle donated by Mount Isa mayor Joyce McCulloch’s business Mount Isa Produce had been the prize for the raffle.
However, more tickets had been sold since the raffle’s sum counted on Friday.
It was drawn at the park after the ride and won by the ‘A Team’, made up of Nicole Anderson, Josie Crawford, Sarah Svenson, Aaron Spradau, Shane Hartnett and Croydon Hampton.
Ms McClymont praised the support of the Mount Isa community, which included the backing of several businesses which increased the size of the overall donation raised.
“The Mount Isa community has just blown me away with it all, with the support in donations and people showing up for it. It’s wonderful,” she said.
Ms McClymont wanted to do whatever she could to support the Hann family.
It was her own passion for horse riding that motivated her to host a trail ride to support the cause, and it kept her busy.
The trail ride attracted riders from as young as 13-years.
