Parts of Ipswich have been pelted by large hail stones as a thunderstorm moves across the region. A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for south-east Queensland by the Bureau of Meteorology.
The storm is likely to bring large hail and damaging winds over the next few hours on its path south.
The alert was issued at 2.40pm and extends from Blackbutt to Harrisville, encompassing Esk, Laidley and Ipswich.
The thunderstorm is not expected to reach the coast anytime soon, but there is potential for it to reach Brisbane.
