Corrine cut a celebratory cake at Normanton Hospital on Tuesday 1 November (Melbourne Cup Day), and was congratulated by North West Hospital and Health Service (NWHHS) Chief
Executive, Lisa Davies Jones and Corrine’s colleagues.
Ms Davies Jones presented Corrine with a framed certificate and said 40 years of service was a considerable achievement.
“Corrine has lived in Normanton her whole life, and has worked at Normanton Hospital for 40 years. That’s a lot of institutional knowledge, not to mention community knowledge, and that makes her a very valuable and valued member of our staff,” Ms Davies Jones said.
Corrine was born and bred in Normanton and started doing domestic duties at Normanton Hospital. She began her nursing career as an Assistant in Nursing for approximately 20 years then went on to study Enrolled Nursing at James Cook University to gain her qualification.
“We were the first ones to come through with a medication endorsement,” Corrine said.
At Normanton Hospital Corrine completes general nursing as an Enrolled Nurse and also holds an X-ray Operator License.
