“The kids did really well,” principal Norm McNamara said.
“They represented the North West with grace and dignity. They played their hardest, learned a lot, made new friends.”
They played Rockhampton Grammar, Sunshine Coast Grammar, West Moreton Anglican College, and Wonga Beach State School – but were unable to qualify to the next round.
The 10 competing students from Happy Valley had their flights, accommodation and meals paid for by Queensland Cricket.
“We would just like to thank them. It was an amazing opportunity for the kids,” Mr McNamara said.
“They had an absolute ball.”
The team qualified by winning the region’s T20 blast grand final against Cloncurry St Josephs in March.
The grand final had been held on Sunset Oval, where the result had been 6/140 to 7/132.
