Celebrating 100 years of the Rotary Foundation, Rotary have teamed up with Malouf Holden to bring the best glitz and glamour Gala Charity Ball to Mount Isa in 2017.
Without revealing to much Rotary Club of Mount Isa president, Tracy Pertovt, said it would blow every other event out of the water.
“This is not a dinner, this is a Charity Gala Ball,” Ms Pertovt said.
“With ideas accumulating in our heads about how to celebrate Rotary Foundation’s 100 years, we have decided to put them all together with the support of our naming sponsor, Malouf Holden.
“The subject is 100 years as we wanted to keep it very classy. Yes themed balls are fun but they are too common.”
Ms Pertovt said celebrities and dignitaries among other special guests would be in attendance.
“There are a combination of highlights that will make this ball the best of the best,” she said.
“Although we cannot reveal what they are yet, all will be revealed in time.
“We are giving back to the community, and doing something that we can say all our hard work and communities donations have gone towards.”
The Rotary Foundation is the $1 billion charitable arm of Rotary International. To mark the centennial, Rotary aims to raise $300 million by July 2017 for its campaign to eradicate polio and for service in communities around the world.
Dealership principal, Paul Malouf, said it was a great cause and he was proud to be the naming sponsor for the event.
“This will be a huge monument for Rotary and Mount Isa and I am glad we will be on board,” Mr Malouf said.
“The concept really fit in with ideas I had in the past when I was involved in the Chamber of Commerce. So when Rotary were pitching it to me I was really excited. It is something extra in the community for a worth while cause.
“This is a very gala event. There are so many balls and events in town but they are all similar, but this has more pizzazz about it.
“I feel like this is going to be the event that you need to go and buy a new suit and bow tie for. This is something that will tick all the boxes”
One of Rotary’s main points of difference, that they can reveal, is that the event will be held at the Irish Club Ball Room.
Sponsorship letters have been distributed and is creating buzz around town as to what can be expected.
The date has exclusively been revealed to the North West Star, so save the date for Saturday March 25, 2017.
