Police say sophisticated gun factory found during raids at the Gold Coast on Friday is the first of its kind in Queensland.

Officers executed search warrants on four residential properties and two industrial sheds finding drug labs, a weapons factory, drugs, guns, ammunition and 3D printer.
The guns found included four "uzi-style" submachine guns, three silencers and two handguns while drugs seized included steroids, cannabis, ecstasy and amphetamines.
Five people were arrested on Friday and charged with a total of 25 drug-related offences in relation to the four residential addresses.
Two men, aged 30 and 33, were taken into custody on Wednesday in connection to the two industrial sheds, located on Lawrence Drive and Hilldon Court in Nerang, and were assisting police with their investigations.
The raids were all part of Operation Oscar Quantum, targeting the manufacturing and distribution of amphetamines.
Detective Superintendent Jon Wacker of the Drug and Serious Crime Group said the discovery of the weapons factory was "concerning".
"It is concerning we were able to locate those machine guns and a sophisticated illicit firearm manufacturing site," he said.
"I believe this would be the first time we have located a facility that can produce this submachine gun (in Queensland)."
Police believe the guns were made on-site and found evidence they had been tested into a firing drum.
Superintendent Wacker believed the six properties searched were linked but said there was no evidence to suggest any links to criminal gangs yet.
Operation Oscar Quantum had been running since September and involved officers from the Drug and Serious Crime Group, Taskforce Maxima, Gold Coast Police and the Australian Border Force.
"The closure of this operation is a testament to good solid police work, including the use of a number of strategies to identify the extent of this network and to locate the offenders," Superintendent Wacker said.
"We believe we have closed down a relatively sophisticated drug and firearms trafficking network distributing large quantities of methylamphetamine across the Gold Coast."
