Locals will dress to impress, decorate their vehicles and tour around Mount Isa to witness the best Christmas lights on display.
Event organiser, Megan Crowther, encouraged locals to take part and get in the Christmas spirit.
“Locals can decorate and register their houses or just come for a drive in the Cavalcade. There will be a best dressed vehicle, and first and second place for best decorated house,” Ms Crowther said.
“Mount Isa Coaches have jumped on board again this year and will host locals on its bus throughout the tour.”
Ms Crowther said this was the fifth year of the event.
“It came about as no one else in town was hosting an event like it and we didn’t want the community to miss out. So we got involved and it grew bigger and bigger,” she said.
“I love Christmas and have had my decorations up for over a month now, so I love getting involved in this event each year.
“An event like this just brings people together at Christmas time and puts a smile on everyone’s face.”
The Cavalcade will start at the Barkly Hotel at 7pm with a 7.30pm departure on December 18. Locals can register their house at Mount Isa Christmas Lights Tour Facebook page.
