This morning the board of Ardent Leisure announced the theme park will reopen on Saturday December 10, in time for the school holidays.

Dreamworld has been closed since October 25 when four people died on the Thunder River Rapids ride.

"We've received tremendous support and feedback from the community and our customer base around the park reopening," he said.

"We're looking forward to seeing them all back next weekend and we'll be working hard with our team to show them a great time when they do."

Mr Davidson said the families of the victims have been kept informed throughout the process.

"We've kept the families through their representatives up to date about the reopening, absolutely."

The first two days of the park's reopening will be a charity weekend, with $25 from every entry ticket to go to the Red Cross to be distributed to those affected by the tragic accident.

"Dreamworld will also contribute the $25 donation on behalf of all pre-paid ticket and passholders," Mr Davidson said.

Ardent chief executive Deb Thomas will also attend the reopening.

WhiteWater World will be fully operational but only parts of Dreamworld will, after undergoing multiple safety checks since Kate Goodchild, Luke Dorsett, Roozi Araghi and Cindy Low died when the Thunder River Rapids malfunctioned.

"Every ride and slide open on 10th December will have passed this rigorously conducted, multi-level safety review," he said.

"Additionally, Royal Lifesaving Queensland representatives will have completed an audit of the water park's lifesaving procedures and safety signage."

Currently, there are no set dates for when other rides at Dreamworld will reopen.

"Once we're all satisfied, confident in all of those safety aspects of those rides we will start to operate them, and that will be brought back online at an ongoing basis," said Mr Davidson.

He also announced a "special summer ticket price" will be in place, and all Dreamworld passholders will receive an extra six months of access to the theme park.

"To show our depth of gratitude and appreciation to our wonderful Dreamworld customers, we will be adding an extra six month period to every passholder's current expiry date, without charge" he said.

The ticket price has not yet been confirmed.

Attractions open from the first weekend at Dreamworld include Tiger Island, the Corroboree indigenous precinct, wildlife areas and a number of other family crowd pleasers.

Ardent Leisure has already announced that the Thunder River Rapids ride will be demolished, but as of yet have not announced plans for the memorial.
