Hodson is in third positions in the Rope and Tie and Team Roping Header standings and seventh in the All Around and tis year, he qualified for the National Finals for the third time, an outstanding effort for a teenager.
In the Rope and Tie, one of his opponents will be Emerald rider and current standings leader Shane Kenny. Hodson has spent a lot of time practicing at Kenny’s arena in Emerald and learnt from the best in the business.
Hodson isn’t the only North Queensland rider performing well this year.
Charters Towers cowboy Liam Davison leads the Team Roping Header standings narrowly from Milner.
Proserpine rider Roy Dunn is third in the APRA standings in the Bull Ride and odds on to qualify for another finals rodeo.
The Mount Isa New Year’s Eve Rodeo is on December 31 at Buchanan Park.
