The thunderstorms were detected near Somerset Dam and Lake Somerset, and are tracking east towards Caboolture, Mount Mee, Woodford, Bribie Island and Beerwah.
EARLIER
The Bureau of Meteorology said the storms, tracking north-east, are forecast to soon reach Kilcoy, Lake Somerset, Mount Kilcoy and the ranges south of Jimna.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning has been issues for parts of the Maranoa, Warrego, Channel Country districts.
