Two lanes had been blocked overnight as emergency services cleared the debris, but about 8.30am all lanes were open and traffic was clearing quickly.

The delays came after a B-double truck overturned on the Pacific Motorway at Eight Mile Plains about 9.15pm just after the Underwood Road overpass.

Queensland Police Inspector Steve Flori said the truck was weaving in traffic lanes prior to the crash and added the vehicle was almost brand new, so investigators doubt mechanical failure was the cause.

The driver, a 36-year-old Waterford West man, died at the scene and two southbound lanes remained closed on Saturday morning closed while the Forensic Crash Unit investigated the incident.

Australian Traffic Network spokeswoman Olympia Kwitowski said delays were back more than five kilometres to Upper Mount Gravatt and were showing no signs of clearing about 7.30am.

Meanwhile, two pedestrians were also killed overnight after separate incidents on the central Queensland coast.

An 81-year-old woman died in Gladstone after a station wagon collided with a parked car before hitting a group of pedestrians.

A 75-year-old woman was also in a serious condition in hospital following the crash.

The second fatality came from Hervey Bay about 1am on Saturday when a 37-year-old man and turning car collided at the intersection of Urraween Road and Maryborough–Urangan Road.

The pedestrian died in hospital and the road has since reopened to traffic.
