A 50-year-old Yatala man was killed after he was struck by a car leaving a disturbance at Broadbeach Waters about 1.25am on December 26.
Police said two armed men entered a home in a unit block on Rio Vista Boulevard, and Darren Pullar was struck and killed when he attempted to help the residents.
The Yatala man was treated at the scene by paramedics, but was unable to be revived.
The suspects fled the scene and police began a manhunt. The suspects are described as being Caucasian in appearance, thin build, about 180 centimetres tall and aged in their early 20s.
Detectives from the Southern Investigative Group will investigate the links between the hit and run, and two armed robberies that occurred earlier in the month.
Police charged a 27-year-old man with armed robbery and attempted robbery on Thursday, over an armed robbery at a Rio Vista Boulevard unit on December 23.
The man allegedly pulled a gun on a 19-year-old man at his home and demanded cash, before fleeing with the money.
The Nerang man was remanded in custody and will face court again on January 19.
Police said a similar incident occurred between December 16 and December 21, where a man went to the same address and demanded money from the same resident.
