The money was raised at the mayor’s annual Christmas Party on December 3, and will go towards the purchase of vital medical equipment for the children’s ward.
North West Hospital and Health Service (HHS) Chief Executive Lisa Davies Jones expressed gratitude for the mayor’s fundraising efforts.
“We’re delighted to receive this money and really grateful for the mayor’s hard work in achieving this,” she said.
Mayor Joyce McCulloch was “ecstatic” with the amount raised.
“The hospital has amazing staff who deserve to have this equipment to work with,” said the mayor.
The funds will go towards a defibrillator for the ward.
A patient currently staying at the ward, 12 year old Adrian Nero, accepted the cheque with Nurse Unit Manager Sue Ryan, Clinical Nurse Nathan Parrish, and HHS CE Lisa Davies Jones.
