From Wednesday January 25 at the Mount Isa Baptist Church at 6pm, boys from prep to year 12 are invited to come along and check it out.
The purpose of Boys Brigade in Australia is to provide a supportive Christian community for boys and young men to assist in their Christian growth, personal development and leadership training with training programs developing young men through fun and challenging activities.
Captain Sam Skinner said they had an exciting program planned. “We have a survival skills program planned for senior boys where they will learn how to do basic first aid, purify water, build a fire with lemons, flint and sticks and some bush mechanics,” Captain Skinner said.
Boys Brigade is a proud tradition among many of the leaders, with most of them having grown up attending Boys Brigade themselves.
An information booklet and registration form is on ‘1st Mount Isa Boys Brigade’ Facebook page or by contacting Jess Skinner on 0409 261 729. Participation costs $35 per term.
