Director Tyne James said the play was funny and lively, and that it would capture the 1920s scene.
“With rehearsals underway, we can already see the large and talented cast are ready to throw themselves into the 1920s.”
Her assistant director is Rhys Haig. It’s his first directing role for the theatrical society.
He said the idea of being in a directing role had been a scary one at first, especially considering he joined the Mount Isa Theatrical Society recently.
However, since joining he has been in local productions such as Othello and in So MITS.
“But it’s also very exciting and enjoyable,” Mr Haig said, after recalling the audition process held on Sunday.
“Already I’ve had an absolute blast watching people slip into their roles and watching them form their ideas about who they are.
“In closed auditions especially it was great to get my fellow actors to try things and see them bring to life what I was visualising inside my head.”
“Plus, who doesn't love watching their friends do great things?”
The show premieres at the MITS theatre on Friday, February 24. It is held Friday and Saturday nights until March 18.
