Especially considering his team were the “underdogs” against Fiji in the final.
“But our team spirit got us the win,” Weller said.
Warrigals had defeated the Fijians 21-14 in the final game.
The regular season resumes this Saturday, during which the Warrigals is scheduled to take on the Euros at 7.45pm.
Weller does not take the weekend’s game lighter even if the team won against Fiji.
“Getting back into the regular season grind versus Euros will be a tough task,” the captain said.
“We have had several players away on holidays or work commitments, so I am not sure if we will have all hands on deck.
“I still feel any team we field will be competitive on Saturday night.”
Cloncurry will play Keas in Mount Isa. The game is scheduled for 6pm, Saturday.
