The excited kids were really curious about what the dogs do day to day and how they help police.
Queensland Police Service said police dogs provide a great assistance to policing and their exceptionally keen sense of smell enables police to track offenders over significant distances.
PD Rowdy and his handler, Senior Constable Josh Bull were inducted in 2015 and posted to Mount Isa where they have been working together for 12 months.
Dog squad officers and their police dog train together on a regular basis, and work each shift together. When the working day is over, police dogs go home and live with their handler and their family.
Kids were keen to give this PD a “rowdy” reception at the PCYC.
