“Those visits set up a wonderful vibe with young people telling their own digital stories and we said, why not do some more,” Mr McManus said.
In collaboration with MICRRA, Headspace and Young People Ahead Mr McManus is now helping youth make films about identity.
“We’ve called it ‘I.Dentity’ and explore the theme with a keen group of 13 broken it up into teams of filmmakers,” he said.
“The film does have to be about your identity or cultural connections, it can be about what you do, I’m a skateboarder, I’m a netballer, I’m a model, whatever they want to associate with, whatever it means to them.”
The group is now working on seven small films for another week.
“I’ll be back in April for Youth Week launch of the films,” Mr McManus said.
