A new show committee has been elected to run this year’s show.
This committee is fired up with enthusiasm to get the 2017 show on the road, and are now asking for the support of the wider Mount Isa community.
The new Mount Isa Show President, Jesse Rosenthal spoke of his vision at a committee meeting last Monday night.
‘We are asking everyone to get fully involved,” Mr Rosenthal said.
“We want to make this year’s Mount Isa Show, in June, a unifying community fun couple of days for the whole family.”
Before he outlined his vision for this year, he introduced the new Board members of the Mount Isa Show.
They are:
Ranita Toholke (Secretary/Vice President),
Kelly Muir (Treasurer),
Jenny Logan (Assistant Secretary and PBR Director),
Edna Russell (Entry),
Carryl Evans (Pavilion Steward),
Shaun McBride (Site Co-ordinator),
Virginia Hills (Photography),
Liz McIntyre (Quilting),
Toni Glanville (Art),
Kim-Maree Burton and Anne Pittis (Miss Show Girl Co-Ordinators).
Mr Rosenthal thanked his new committee for getting involved and said more helpers were needed.
‘We are encouraging every organisation in town recreational, educational, health and business, to partner with us,” he said.
“We want to showcase our community’s combined talents, handicrafts, photography, animals and pets, cookery, school displays, art and entertainment this year at the Show.”
Mr Rosenthal said the commitee was always on the lookout for more volunteers and new ideas to make this year’s show exciting, entertaining and educational.
The 2017 Mount Isa show takes over Buchanan Park on Friday and Saturday June 23-24.
From bronco-branding (Australia’s traditional method of branding cattle in the bush) to the PBR action ( anew addition to the program) in the rodeo arena, Miss Show Girl to Side Show Alley, there is plenty around to see and do so everyone in the community is invited to get involved in the 2017 Mount Isa Show.
