Every 11am Monday we will set up a 15 minutes Facebook Live cast called “Elevenses”.
Eleven am is when when we finish our print deadline for the Tuesday paper and Elevenses is what the Brits call morning tea, so at 11am we’ll be having a cuppa and hopefully a healthy snack like an apple, and if you are doing the same you’re welcome to join. Though if you are eating a doughnut, we’ll forgive you.
At Elevenses editor Derek Barry and journalists Chris Burns and Esther MacIntyre will chew the fat over the main news items affecting the north west in the week ahead, and we take a look back on the weekend gone.
We’ll start the ball rolling this Monday with a discussion about back to school, what’s happening in the region on Australia Day, and what happened when Chris bumped into a “bogan with a slogan”.
We’ll have the laptop in front of us (and hopefully the editor’s glasses), so if there is anything people want us to discuss we can talk about that.
But be warned if there are any “mean tweets” about us, we’ll likely read them on the air too.
So grab your cuppa and join us for Elevenses from 11am to 11.15am Monday on Facebook at a computer device near you.
We apologise in advance for the excessive beardiness of the first episode with Esther missing in action in Kiwi country. She will be back next week.
