The tour will be in late 2018 and will consist of six games over two weeks and will include New York City, Boston, Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City and Longbeach, California.
Indigenous Australian Invitational Rugby team manager Darrell Morris said the IAIR looked to empower young Indigenous men by assisting them with their educational, employment and social goals.
“The aim is to develop future indigenous leaders and take into account efforts made by applicants on and off the field when offering an invitation to tour,” Morris said. “The IAIR will aim to assist selected players with their rugby development, studies, housing and employment options.”
Morris said players would also participate in functions, sightseeing, conducting coaching clinics and spending time volunteering with a Canadian based charity.
The team will also be playing an All Aboriginal Canadian team which is a follow up to the teams historic match against an All Native American team in Gallup, New Mexico in 2015.
