The assembly on Wednesday morning gathered members of the college and Mount Isa community, including new Principal Peter Scott.
Father Mick Lowcock led a service focused on mercy, kindness and forgiveness.
Year 12 students were presented with leadership badges, in line with Mr Scott’s fresh vision for the school.
“My vision for Good Shepherd is that it be a place that shapes the young leaders of tomorrow,” said Mr Scott.
“As a leader you must be inspired by the lowly, concrete, and faithful service which marked St Joseph,” said Mr Scott in his address.
Badges were also presented to the Student Representative Council, made up of students from each level.
MP Robbie Katter received an honourable mention for his presence, and setting an example for students.
