In its 23rd consecutive year, invitations were sent to dedicated sponsors and stakeholders to kick start the event at the Coffee Club Domain in Townsville.
The Coffee Club was transformed into a country party with bales of hay, country music, beverages and canapes under the night sky.
The launch also included a red carpet, presentations on the event and a taste of the country experience with a whip cracking show and live country music.
In addition to being the official start of the festival lead up, the night was also held as a thank you to all the sponsors and stakeholders who had worked tirelessly to help bring the iconic event to life.
Julia Creek Dirt n Dust president, Stephen Malone, said without all of those people the event wouldn’t get off the ground.
“We hold this night to thank them for everything they’ve been doing for us and to kick off the celebrations for the festival this year.
“It was a night of music, entertainment, good food, good drinks and good company,” he said.
With early bird nominations closing soon, the Julia Creek Dirt N Dust committee will now return to the outback town to prepare for the iconic event, to be held on April 7-9.
