Having been tested by underdogs Greater Western Sydney on Saturday at Ikon Park, the Blues kicked away in the final quarter to record a 13-point win, their second victory from as many starts in the inaugural AFLW season.

The result has heightened interest around Carlton's meeting with the Crows at Adelaide's Thebarton Oval. Adelaide beat premiership fancies the Western Bulldogs at Whitten Oval on Friday night, having defeated the Giants the previous weekend.

Davey - the former Matildas goalkeeper - has been arguably best afield in both of Carlton's wins to date, but is at risk of missing the clash with the Crows. It's highly likely she'll face match review panel attention on Monday for a first quarter tackle on Giant Jess Dal Pos, who left the ground with a neck complaint after the incident.

The fact Dal Pos returned to play out the game should help in Davey's favour. Giants coach Tim Schmidt said Dal Pos was fine after having the 'wind' taken out of her.

Davey herself had limited recollections of the incident when asked about it after the match. "I think it might have just been going for the footy and we collided. I sort of remember her going down and me running off for the footy."

Regardless of whether she plays, the meeting of two 2-0 sides will bring increased scrutiny from fans and rival clubs.

The star defender played down any rising external expectations, saying Carlton's mindset was unlikely to change.

"I don't necessarily think there's extra pressure. We just need to go out and play how we play, stick to the structures and hopefully that's what gets us over the line."

The Blues remain positive about the chances of regaining vice-captain Madeline Keryk for the Crows match after she missed the win over GWS because of soreness.

Davey said Keryk's teammates had felt her absence. "She's a great leader on-field and she's just in and hard at it which makes the whole group lift. I think in the first term we just missed that sort of hard at it attack on the ball," Davey said.

Despite the home and away season lasting just seven rounds, Davey flagged the possibility of other Blues missing matches to nurse bumps and bruises. "I think there's going to be a couple of times throughout the season where we sort of look after some girls here and there.

"But Mads will bounce back next week."

The Giants were without marquee players Emma Swanson and Renee Forth, but were on the verge of an upset when they kicked the opening two goals of the second half to take a 13-point lead, before Carlton steadied to kick the next five goals.

Davey said the scare would serve the Blues well in the long run. "I think in a way it was sort of good for us to be put under that pressure early. I think the main thing is that we bounced back from it and luckily got back on top and got the win."

Blues coach Damien Keeping said after the match he was looking forward to the side's first trip out of Victoria. "We're ready for our next challenge of going interstate for the first time. Each week is a new measuring stick for us to constantly get better – that's the challenge for our group," Keeping said.

"Adelaide are very good around the contest and up for the competitive side of the game. We're expecting a fierce contest and that's how we'll prepare."
