Police were called in to search for Charlotte Bowman, 19, and Jahnessa Jerome, 24, after they allegedly fled the Numinbah Correctional Facility on Friday night.
Ms Bowman was located in a Redcliffe shopping centre, some 100 kilometres away, on Sunday and brought back into police custody.
Meanwhile Ms Jerome was arrested in Tweeds Heads, New South Wales at 9.30am on Monday morning. She was due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
In court on Monday, Ms Bowman sat with arms and legs crossed, sandy blonde hair loosely tied back and wearing prison-issue jumper and tracksuit pants as her charge of escape lawful custody was heard.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Aydina Pugh said both prisoners were accounted for during a headcount at 10.30pm on Friday but weren't present for a count 45 minutes later.
She said rooms and the rest of the prison facility were searched before the search area widened and a warrant was eventually issued.
On Monday morning, the Brisbane Magistrates Court heard Ms Bowman had told duty solicitor Caroline Hunter she was due for release in early June this year.
But Magistrate John McGrath said he couldn't match that release date with the accused's criminal history.
The matter was adjourned to seek clarification.
