Keas coach Shaun Wilde said his side had been short of players and seemed to begin with low morale.
“It felt like we got bad news before the game and everyone was a bit flat,” he said. Wilde aims to have the time fired up for their game against Cloncurry to played in Mount Isa at 6pm, Saturday.
Warrigals coach Rob Peters said the game had been “scrappy”, and his team began with little respect for the Keas. “It was not a pretty game. In the first half it was like everyone wanted to score,” he said. Warrigals returned to form when they focused on their plan of working on the Kea’s “big guys”. Peters anticipated the next game against Euros at 7.45pm, Saturday.
The game could determine the minor premiership.
Both sides play with almost full strength as the mine’s A and C shifts, which make the solid teams, are rostered off.
