Golden Slipper favourite She Will Reign could be the first horse to be a confirmed Everest runner with an investor to negotiate about buying a slot for the unbeaten flying filly in $10 million sweepstakes in October.

Her owners could have two racing dreams this year, not bad for a filly which cost Darby Racing $20,000 at last year's Inglis Classic. She has already banked more than $450,000 in prizemoney after her remarkable Silver Slipper win on Saturday.

But She Will Reign could win more than $8 million if she can stay unbeaten through the Golden Slipper and the Everest.

Scott Darby revealed to Fairfax Media the shock approach about the Everest at last week's Classic Sale and that an investor wanted to buy a $600,000 slot in the race with his filly in mind.

"I had a friend come to me and said he had [an] investor looking for the ideal Everest horse. He had told his investor the only horse he could think of was our filly after she won that barrier trial by nine lengths," Darby said.

"It was a shock that it came so quickly, I had thought about it briefly myself but it was really only me dreaming.

"The investor wants to sit down with us in the next couple of weeks and talk about opportunities around the Everest and wants to have first right to negotiate with her owners.

"It is exciting she was identified by someone else prepared to pay that sort of money for a slot even before Saturday."

She Will Reign only enhanced her reputation at the weekend when she blew the start but was still too good for her rivals in the Silver Slipper. She was throttled down for the final 100m and Ladbrokes reacted by making her the $3 Golden Slipper favourite.

The bookmaking firm also respects her chances against the best sprinters in the land, having her a $41 chance in Everest.

Jockey Ben Melham, who rode Black Caviar to her first group 1 victory, was delighted with the way the Manhattan Rain filly reacted to adversity on Saturday.

"She is just so relaxed and has that high speed," Melham said. "I love her. She is closing in on being the second best sprinter I have ridden."

For sheer speed there are few more exciting horses in the country and although she has only had three starts, She Will Reign has already almost broken a track record at Kembla Grange over 1000m on debut.

She Will Reign's trainer Gary Portelli was aware of the Everest offer but knows she will have to win the Golden Slipper for it to become a reality.

"My Everest is the Golden Slipper with her at the moment," Portelli said. "It is a race that changes lives and we have a filly that is already doing that.

"She will have one more start before the Slipper and then the big day. Anything that comes after that will be bonus."

The Everest expressions of interest go out this week and Darby said he had dreamed about the possibility of having a runner and even thought of buying a slot himself.

"When it was announced I think everyone in racing thought how good would it be to win that," he said.

"I have to say we are focused on the Golden Slipper with her, it has been the race I have wanted to since I was a kid.

"I had considered saying to the owners if she won the Golden Slipper to put away the $600,000 for a slot but you have to commit for three years so that was not viable for us.

"This is a great offer, which we will work through it in the next couple of months, but if it comes off we will be going to a race we never dreamed about."

She Will Reign would be the ideal horse for any investor because she might be able to run in the first three editions of the Everest given her youth. She is only going to improve with maturity.

She has stamped herself as one of the best two-year-olds in the country and as a three-year-old filly in Everest, she would only have to carry 51kg as opposed to the older sprinter with 58.5kg, which would be a huge advantage.
