Welcoming Babies Day gave families a chance to meet the mayor, pose for a photo, and collect a commemorative birth certificate.
Mayor Joyce McCulloch acknowleded the importance of children in our community.
“We hold this event every year as a special way to recognise Mount Isa’s newest community members and to recognise the new life and vibrancy of this city.
"It is important to us as a city to encourage new life and grow together, and to celebrate the newest members of our society, who will in the blink of an eye be out there and contributing to our community.
“As a parent, I know how important occasions like this are. It is so important to celebrate each milestone and achievement in your child’s life as they grow so very quickly, and I hope that we have helped you to celebrate a special occasion today, by officially welcoming your baby as a resident of Mount Isa,” Mayor McCulloch said.
