Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has again insisted the next state election will be in 2018.

Speaking from the Gold Coast on Wednesday, Ms Palaszczuk said it was her "intention" that the election would be "just over a year away".
Saturday, May 5, 2018 is the last possible date for the next state election, but it is widely tipped to be held in the second half of 2017.
However, Ms Palaszczuk has repeatedly said the election was not due until around "this time next year".
"I'm hoping it's around this time next year," she said in January.
The Queensland Redistribution Commission is finalising its proposal for a shake-up of the state electoral boundaries, which is due to be released by mid to late February.
It will change the boundaries of some seats and also increase the number of seats from 89 to 93.
But Ms Palaszczuk would not guarantee the next election would be fought under the new boundaries.
"I can't say that for sure, those boundaries haven't even come out yet," she said.
"But what I can say is that my whole cabinet team is focused on the budget.
"Over the next few months my cabinet will be travelling around all parts of Queensland focusing on jobs."
The budget is due to be handed down in June, and the new electoral boundaries will take effect that month.
Ms Palaszczuk has also announced cabinet would meet on the Gold Coast on April 3, with a town hall meeting open to the community also held during the week.
When asked how Labor would handle the redistribution, Ms Palaszczuk said: "Let's all take a deep breath.
"The boundaries haven't even come out yet."
The redistribution will create seats in areas where there have been population increases.
Seats with a high "elector quota deviation" percentage include Murrumba, Coomera, Bundamba and Barron River.
LNP Opposition Industrial Relations spokesman Jarrod Bleijie accused Ms Palaszczuk of creating uncertainty for Queenslanders by failing to confirm whether the new electoral boundaries will take effect at the next election.
"The upcoming redistribution has the potential to change the way Queenslanders vote - they have a right to know what electorate they will be voting in well in advance."
Queenslanders backed increasing MPs' three-year terms to four years, with a fixed election date, in a referendum in 2016.
But if an election is held before December 31, 2017, the next election will be held on October 31, 2020, according to advice published on the Queensland Parliament website.
If it is held between January 1, 2018, and May 5, 2018, the next election will be held on October 30, 2021.
