"I wanted to get on the back of Pariah early but I couldn't. Once we got into the straight I knew she'd get there," Williams said.

Both Catchy and Sheidel are owned by Melbourne businessman Robert Crabtree.

Leaving no stone unturned in her rise up the world rankings, trainer Chris Waller walked the wet Randwick straight an hour before the champion mares raced in the Chipping Norton.

And while Black Heart Bart continued his remarkable group 1 affinity with Caulfield racecourse when he was successful in the Futurity Stakes it was also another special racing moment for the horse's trainer Darren Weir.

Weir managed to quinella the group 1 encounter when Black Heart Bart's stablemate and former Japanese galloper Tosen Stardom went within a short half-head of knocking off the Western Australian marvel.

Both horses now appear destined for Sydney, with Tosen Stardom after Saturday's performance primed to be a major player in some of the weight for age races in the coming two months.

The performance of Tosen Stardom was not lost on bookmakers either as they slashed his quote of $100 into $15 for one Australia's most celebrated 1600-metre races, the Doncaster Handicap.

As well, the third Weir galloper Palentino came home well in the same race and is adding remarkable depth to the stable's autumn carnival.
