Both senior and junior games will kick off with a fun “come try round robin day” on March 11.
The Mount Isa Hockey Association invites the communities of Mount Isa and surrounding districts to come down and join them and give hockey a try.
Training for the juniors will start on Wednesday March 1 from 5.15pm to 6.15pm and a donation will be made to the Mothe family from the money raised on March 11.
“Sadly, our numbers, especially for juniors has drop considerably from last season and we are desperately calling out to kids between the ages of 4 and 16 to come give it a go,” the association said.

“Both Hornets and T-Birds are greatly in need of players and might not be able to continue the season if they don’t get more players.”
The association said to make hockey a healthy competition they needed these teams filled with keen spirited kids from age four to 16, with the need greatest for those aged eight and over.

The association said they strived for hockey to be a fun activity that the whole family can enjoy.
Both kids and parents can play, and Saturday afternoons can turn into an enjoyable, active afternoon with a dab of healthy competitiveness.
Games start at 12.30pm with the first junior game and end around 9pm with the last senior game.
Bar facilities are available and this year MIHA are opening of heir newly renovated canteen and seeking expressions of interest to manage it.
