She is currently a semi-finalist in the arts and fashion category. Ms Glover learns if she becomes a finalist on March 9, and if she does then attends a gala dinner in May to learn if she becomes the overall winner.
Last year’s overall Queensland Young Achiever was Mount Isa’s Justice King.
Ms Glover developed her craft in Mount Isa, and was also the local Zonta Club branch’s committee president, but in the Christmas holidays she moved to Brisbane. Her photography business still supports Mount Isa weddings and portraits.
“It’s definitely surreal to think that you are just going about your life and business doing the best you can and helping out where you can,” Ms Glover said, when describing how she felt about becoming a semi-finalist.
“But others see something special in what you are doing.
To think that you are just going about your life and business...but others see something special in what you are doing.

“I was proud to be recognised in my local community, but to be considered on a state level is something else.”
Other awards that Ms Glover has received includes an honourable mention in the International Photography Awards, and the 2016 Northern Outback Business Award’s business innovation category.
Other achievements she would be considered for in the awards is having been accredited by the Australian Institute of Professional Photography, and attended the Wedding and Portrait Photographers Conference in Las Vegas last year.
Ms Glover has also supported local Mount Isa charities with her volunteer work – including animal welfare group Paws Hoofs and Claws, the Mount Isa Zonta Club, and Neighbourhood Watch.
She credits working with these groups as having been inspiring.
Ms Glover used her talents as a photographer to raise money for Paws Hoofs and Claws through ‘The Ink Project’ which are a series of coffee table art books featuring tattoos.
Another highlight for the awards was photographing a wedding in New York City last September. She also plans on taking photography at another international wedding in August. This time she takes photographs in Mexico.
