The inaugural event is on March 25 at the Irish Club ballroom, celebrating 100 years of the Rotary Foundation which began in 1917 with a donation of $26.50.
The Rotary Club of Mount Isa was founded in 1958.
Funds raised from the Malouf Holden Rotary Foundation Charity Ball will fund community service projects in the Mount Isa district.
At $150 a pop, a ticket to the ball gets you celebrity guests, world-class entertainment, a performance from local band Bulldust, and some incredible prizes.
This is the first event of its kind for the club, who are thrilled to have sponsorship from Malouf Holden.
“When we pitched the idea to Paul Malouf he was excited and couldn’t wait to come on board,” Ms Pertovt said.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased from Shutup & CUT hairdressers Mount Isa, or by contacting Tracy Pertovt on 0407491130.
Ms Pertovt said it’s an important event for the club, which does a lot of fundraising for the community.
“The rodeo is our biggest fundraising event, but we do a lot of community service projects,” Ms Pertovt said.
“Recently we've done buddy benches, Cuddle Cot for the Mount Isa Hospital, we supported Ava who was raising money for Prader Willi Syndrome.
“We purchased a customised trike for Colt O’Sullivan who has Cerebral Paulsy
“We do sausage sizzles and donate sports balls to PCYC, and attend different community events so people know Rotary are here.”
The event will have a mega multi-draw raffle, auctions, and amazing lucky door prizes including retuurn flights to Cairns.
Local businesses have been very generous in donating prizes for the multi draw raffle.
