There’s no better example of this than our $100 million Back to Work regional jobs package, which is already supporting 52 jobs in the North West.
I’ve seen first-hand the great results Back to Work is delivering for jobseekers and employers, who are embracing the program in ever-growing numbers.
More than 1,600 jobseekers are now back at work in regional Queensland thanks to this initiative, and hundreds more applications are waiting to be processed.
This means that more than 2,000 unemployed in regional Queensland now have work.
One of the most attractive features of Back to Work is the $20,000 “Youth Boost” that’s available to employers who hire a jobseeker aged 15-24.
This is all part of $1 billion worth of programs dedicated to regional Queensland.
It’s the height of hypocrisy for the LNP to be criticising such a successful program that’s clearly supporting real jobs in the regions.
The LNP has no credibility on jobs. Jarrod Bleijie was part of a government that sacked 14,000 workers and which left the state’s unemployment rate at 6.6 per cent.
We’re working hard to undo the damage done by the LNP through a 100 per cent focus on supporting regional jobs.

Outage outrage
Mathematics gave us Chaos Theory and its sub-set "The butterfly effect".
This postulates that a small change in one place/time can result in a large change in a later place/time.
Well done Mount Isa!
We have our very own butterfly effect, as observed on a recent Monday night.
It seems that a bat flying into a pole in Happy Valley, or someone slamming a car door in Healy can cause a power outage in Soldier's Hill.
Again.

Gary Osman Excellent management Bernard looking after your great staff set terrific example and your business will continue to flourish and retain your staff!
Peter McGarvey asked the club – Ben you might mot be dropping penalty rates for your staff but will you be dropping your staff numbers to compensate your losses?
Bernard Gillic responded - No changes to staff numbers Peter, No staff member working at the Mount Isa Irish Club will be negatively impacted by the Fair work commissions decision. We will not be incurring any losses due to the decision as we will simply not pass on a pay cut.
