Mount Isa Landcare president Mark Van Ryt said their outing started with a shared breakfast.
“Four of us did the walking while Paul Johnson and Jesse Osborn drove the cars around to the Gorge Waterhole,” Mr Van Ryt said.
“We needed Paul to gather wood and light a fire while Jesse played with his drone and took photos from the air while the others walked about 3.5km from the junction of Greens Creek down the Corella River.”
Mr Van Ryt said the going wasn’t easy with thick lush buffel grass, humid and warm conditions and a rocky last kilometre.
“Chad Hopkins and Bryan Liau searched the North Bank and found 16 plants and on the South Bank Falcon Seagrave and I pulled out 17,” he said.
“The highlight of our day had to be the cool swim in a magnificent waterhole sharing a couple of beers.
That completes the Corella walks until mid year.
