Queensland government ministerial offices spent more than $17.8 million in the second half of 2016, including almost $1 million on travel.

The spend on overseas travel and official duties for July 1, 2016 to December 31, 2016 came in at $418,592 and domestic travel was $524,123, a public report into ministerial offices expenses reveals.
The IT bill came in at $1.2 million, salary and employee expenses were $10.6 million and building services $3.1 million.
Annastacia Palaszczuk's office of Premier and Arts Minister had the largest bill, coming in at $3.3 million.
That was followed by the portfolio of Deputy Premier, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning, Trade and Investment Minister Jackie Trad with $1.2 million.
But the question of who splashes the cash more - Labor or LNP - is the subject of a political slanging match.
A government spokesman said the Palaszczuk ministry was more than $4 million cheaper than the previous LNP government, comparing financial year for 2013-14 and 2015-16.
The spokesman said there was an increase in costs over the last six months of 2016 compared to the same period in 2015 - of $2.7 million - because three additional ministers were appointed in December 2015, to increase cabinet to 17.
"As a result, total costs for ministerial offices are higher for the second half of 2016 compared to the same period in 2015," he said.
"There were additional costs associated with 1 William Street in the second half of 2016."
But an LNP spokesman said the figures for the last six months of the LNP government, from July to December 2014, and July to December 2016 were very similar.
That is $18.5 million for the Newman LNP government and $17.9 million for the Palaszczuk Labor government.
"In fact when you take into account a lot of former LNP ministers were from regional centres and required to do a lot of travel both via car and plane within Queensland, the LNP actually spent less for this like v like period," the LNP spokesman said.
The spokesman also pointed out that Labor had promised to cut the number of cabinet ministers and assistant ministers in 2015, saving $27 million each parliamentary term.
