Jono Dean was the star with the big-hitting Adelaide Strikers batsman arriving at the crease on Saturday at 4-53, before resurrecting Creek's chase of 238 runs.

Alongside skipper John Rogers (75), the duo put on a sublime 155-run stand as Dean belted an unbeaten 124 runs from 154 delivers to guide Creek home.

Ginninderra's Sam Gaskin (97 not out), Cameron Suidgeest (58) and Kiplin Dorgia (39) dug in on Friday, but nobody else could hit double digits against Creek's bowling attack led by Rogers (4-62) and Harry Medhurst (4-48).

Rogers admitted things were uncomfortable early in the chase but remained confident of victory if Creek were able to build one partnership.

"We had a night watchman go in last night [Friday] and we knew the wicket would flatten out if we got overs into their bowlers. I was a little bit nervous there for a bit but I had faith we were going to get the job done," Rogers said.

"We knew Ginninderra were going to fight tooth and nail to put us under pressure, but we also knew one big partnership was going to break the game open."

Rogers praised Dean and clubman Medhurst for rising to the challenge when the game was on the line.

"Jono played out of his skin like the class player he is. The important part about finals is your senior players have to take it on themselves to personally win the game and you can't fault Jono there," Rogers said.

"He has taken the gloves since he's come back from Big Bash and won us the game today off his own bat. We're absolutely chuffed to have someone like him in our side who has come back from the pros full of confidence.

"Harry Medhurst took a screamer at second slip and had great all round game, he's the heart and soul of our team and an especially handy player at this time of year."

Rogers said the club may have etched its name into the record books with yet another grand final appearance, but emphasised the job isn't done yet.

"Making grand finals is a pretty special feeling and only trumped by winning them," Rogers said.

"We've had our fair share of losses out of those eight so we've got some work to do and we're well aware of that.

"I'm looking forward to a big week on the paddock and making sure we walk onto the field next week trusting each and our own game."

The other semi-final between minor premiers Tuggeranong and Wests-UC remains in the balance with the Vikings holding a 25-run first innings lead at stumps on day two.

Tuggeranong batted first and posted an imposing 323 runs thanks to Eric Witheridge (108) and Benji Floros (99), while Wests bowler Ethan Bartlett (5-80) went on a one man mission to keep his side in the game.

Blake Macdonald (76), Tom Engelbrecht (70), Bartlett (31) and skipper Joe Cooke (30) all contributed on Saturday, but it was Vikings captain Shane Devoy (7-72) who ensured the first innings lead with a sublime spell.
