After winning the toss and batting Tuggeranong recovered from 6-33 to post an imposing 323 runs thanks to Eric Witheridge (108) and Benji Floros (99).

Wests bowler Ethan Bartlett (5-80) was in fine touch before Blake Macdonald (76), Tom Engelbrecht (70) and skipper Joe Cooke (30) all chipped in for a 298-run response.

A superb spell from Shane Devoy (7-72) ensured Tuggeranong held a first innings lead and the Vikings skipper then backed it up with an unbeaten 62, which alongside Tim Floros' 99 iced the game.

"It was a pretty challenging three days, they're a pretty good side and have been for a long time. To come out on top from where we were at 6-33, I couldn't be pretty prouder of the boys," Devoy said.

"Today [Sunday] I think it was a case of they'd come quite hard at us and did, so it was important to stay positive and bat time, then Timmy scored over a run a ball to take the game away from them."

Devoy was comfortably named man-of-the-match after extending his lead atop of the first grade wickets tally (44), while his 676 runs places him second with the bat behind Creek captain John Rogers (741).

"It's nice to place well but even nicer to see guys who aren't necessarily proven stars stepping up. It was disappointing Benji and Tim missed out, but Eric scored his first first grade hundred," Devoy said.

Tuggeranong defeated Weston Creek in the Gallop Cup one day final in December and the Vikings haven't dropped a Douglas Cup fixture this season. But with Adelaide Strikers batsman Jono Dean in Creek's side, Devoy believes his men are the underdogs.

"It's going to be another great challenge, it was awesome to come out on top in the one day final but they were without Jono Dean," Devoy said.

"With him in their side they're a different prospect. It will be great for us to have a challenge against people that are professional cricketers and see if we're good enough.

"There's a lot of excitement and nerves heading into the final, but there shouldn't be too many surprises after playing them a couple of times already, it's promising to be a tough few days of cricket."
