Get you rods up to the Carpentaria for what is sure to be a great weekend by the water.
Normanton Barra comp president Dennis Taney said this year was shaping up as excellent with the best rain and river flow for 5 years.
“There are plenty of good quality barra, some over the magic metre, which are being caught already,” Mr Taney said.
Entrants will be hoping to beat last year’s top barra weight of 19.72kgs.
Prize money for this year is unchanged with around $25,000 all up in cash and prizes.

Nominations are from Good Friday 5-9pm and Easter Saturday 7-9am at the Albion Hotel.
Competition starts Saturday 6am and ceases Sunday 4pm sharp.(last weigh-in)
Briefing and explanation of rules will occur Friday 7pm
Weigh-in and functions for Saturday and Sunday nights will also be at the Albion Hotel.
