Adelaide, Sydney, West Coast and the Western Bulldogs collected the remaining four votes.

However, the 13 clubs who failed to garner a vote should take heart from the fact that reigning premiers the Bulldogs didn't attract a single vote 12 months ago.

GWS missed out on a maiden grand final berth last year in heartbreaking circumstances when they lost to the Dogs by five points in an epic preliminary final.

Dangerfield is the hot tip among the captains to win back-to-back Brownlow Medals. He got five votes - more than double the next best with Bulldog Marcus Bontempelli, Swan Dan Hannebery and Tiger Dustin Martin receiving two votes each.

Sydney were voted the most likely team to make the finals with a 17-vote clean sweep. Each captain had to pick a team other than their own when asked who was most likely to qualify for both the grand final and the finals.

The Giants and Eagles were a close second with 16 votes, followed by Adelaide (15), the Bulldogs (15), Geelong (14) and Hawthorn (14).

It's a two-man race for the Coleman Medal, according to the skippers, with both Sydney superstar Lance Franklin and Gold Coast young gun Tom Lynch gathering six votes each.

No.1 draft pick Andrew McGrath is the outright favourite to become Essendon's second Rising Star winner after Dyson Heppell won in 2011. McGrath got four votes, ahead of Port Adelaide's Sam Powell-Pepper and the Giants' Tim Taranto with three each.

Nathan Jones, Callan Ward and Steven May represented Melbourne, GWS and Gold Coast respectively as each of those clubs has co-captains.
