The triathlon will be held on Sunday morning with some road disruptions for traffic. There will be short delays on the Barkly Highway and the Burke Development Road, with the speed limit reduced to 60 kilometres.
Drivers should take care on Ramsay Street.
Daintree Street will be closed from the intersection of Shead and Station Streets.
The Cloncurry pool will be closed to swimmers from 9am to 11am for the junior triathlon.
Bennett said the race briefing will be held between 5.30am to 6.30am at the PCYC Hall. The race will begin at 7am from Chinaman Creek Dam.
The Olympic distance of the swim leg will be 1500 metres, the spring distance is 700 and the enticer is 300 metres.
The transition to the cycling leg will be at the Dam. The Olympic and sprint competitors cycle up Normanton Road and then loop back and head to town on the Flinders Highway. The enticer heads straight to town from Chinaman Creek Dam.
