Several Aunties have been working on paintings at the elders art group run by Kalkadoon artist Barbara Sam.
Ms Sam says she enjoys teaching painting and mentoring new students.
“It’s for the elders and young people, it’s a place where they can get together and learn the basics of art.
“I’ve been with them for a while, and they've made some beautiful artwork.
The group meets at Anglicare’s offices and acting program manager Jodi Martyr says it’s free for any Indigenous elders or youth.
“They sit with the aunties and uncles and paint, and share stories as well,” Ms Martyr said.
“It’s got a bit of a mentoring element to it when you get the youth involved,” she said.
