Wests Tigers will be happy to see the back of the Green Machine, who ran in eight unanswered tries to blow the visitors off Canberra Stadium 46-6 in front of 14,628 fans on Sunday.

Raiders winger Jordan Rapana was brilliant, scoring two tries along with two try assists as he ran for 192 metres.

His teammate on the left wing, Nick Cotric scored his first NRL try as Raiders captain Jarrod Croker looked like his kicking hadn't missed a beat in his return from a knee injury.

The rout means Wests have now shipped 158 points against Canberra in their last three meetings and will have them happy they won't have to play them again unless they meet in the finals.

But Stuart was mindful it was only their first win of the season and now he wanted his team to start producing some consistency.

"It doesn't seem as though we've got any injuries out of that, which is good to see. It's only one game though," he said.

"We've got to show some consistency now because we've only been consistent in one half of footy out of six [so far this season].

"We'll leave that alone, we've got such a short turnaround now - we play again Friday night - that was a tough physical game ... we'll probably only get to practice once this week and we'll see how we go then."

The Tigers looked the better side for large parts of the first half, but were made to pay for not taking their chances.

They got a hint of what was to come when veteran forward Chris Lawrence dropped the kick-off, but they got on top and hemmed the home side into their own half.

Raiders centre Joey Leilua inadvertently set up the first try when Tigers winger David Nofoaluma intercepted his pass and run 70 metres to score in the 12th minute.

Leilua was able to make amends, though, playing a role in Rapana's first as his quick hands were matched by Elliott Whitehead's flick-pass to give the winger the space to dive into the corner.

Wests squandered a chance to go back in front when utility Jack Littlejohn lost the ball in a great covering tackle from Blake Austin when he was just two metres out from the Raiders' line.

Then in the blink of an eye the Raiders were in front never to be caught.

Canberra halfback Aidan Sezer capitalised on a poor Moses defensive read to put Josh Papalii over and then Rapana showed his pace to burn off Moses Suli before putting a perfectly-weighted kick for Austin to run onto.

It meant the Raiders took a 12-point lead into half-time and then things got ugly as both Tigers second-rowers Sauaso Sue and Chris Lawrence failed concussion tests early in the second half.

Cotric capitalised on a loose pass from Littlejohn out of dummy-half for his first try before Rapana set up fullback Jack Wighton to score.

Croker, Whitehead and Rapana then finished off the rout to kick their season into gear.

The heavy loss mounted more pressure on Wests coach Jason Taylor, who's off contract at the end of the season, and captain Aaron Woods conceded the loss was a lot like last week's against Penrith - good for a while before dropping away badly.

"I thought we were good for the first 30 [minutes], we controlled it, our halves controlled it for the first 30, getting the repeat [sets] and then just those silly errors just before half-time let in two tries back-to-back," Woods said.

"It just felt like last week again and we're not good enough at the moment to get ourselves out of it.

"As a team we've got to be tougher and stronger through those situations. We're just going to have to work harder throughout the week and get over it."
