A Brisbane police officer has been charged with accessing a police database for personal use, according to the state's corruption watchdog.

The Crime and Corruption Commission said it charged the 43-year-old detective senior constable from State Crime Command on Monday for allegedly accessing QPRIME to make checks that were for a "personal purpose".
The CCC alleged the officer accessed the police database on 10 occasions in 2016.
The man is set to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on April 17 to face 10 charges relating to computer hacking and misuse.
The CCC has notified the Queensland Police Service Ethical Standards Command.
